About Alabama Tangled Tales
Welcome to my website. I began my research fifteen years ago when a fire destroyed the
few possessions I had of my maternal grandfather who died five years before my birth.
I turned to my cousin in law Elaine Hendricks for help when I came to a brick wall. She
in turn helped me get a bearing on my research as well as provided me with a treasure
trove of information on my MAJORS, POUNCEY, TILL family lines. Without her research
these lines would not be as complete and I for one owe her a debt a gratitude.
I know that there are some people who still do not know about the accident that claimed
her life and that of her husband Jeff. I am sincerely sorry that you should learn of
her death this way. On June 1, 2007 she and Jeff were on vacation in New York with
some friends when they were struck head on by a motorist who became distracted and
crossed into their lane of traffic.
Elaine and Jeff touched the lives of many people and were devoted to each other. I take
great comfort that God in his mercy took both of them, however hard for us, so that
neither was left to grieve for the other.
I just recently learned that my husband and I are related thru our Mills family. We are
fourth cousins once removed. His children are also his cousins. Confusing huh?? LoL.
His line is Warren Wilson Mills born 1824 married Celia Goff. My line is Wilson Mills
born 1828 married Mahala Ludlam. Warren and Wilson are brothers. So we share a set of
great grandparents.
Please be sure to visit Find a Grave! If you type in Jeff or Elaine Hendricks you will
be taken directly to the memorial site I set up for them.
